Mary MacKillop Pilgrimage, Sydney June 2013
In June this year Mary O'Neill visited Mary MacKillop centre in Sydney. It's a place out of the ordinary where Mary
MacKillop lived, died and is buried. The Museum and chapel attract many turists each year.
"I am very happy that my pilgrimage to Sydney happened in the Catholic Year of Faith. I would like to thank to sister Helen of St. Joseph for
her time spent with me and for her guidance and booklet of 5 reflections she gave me. Sister Helen wrote the Reflections inspired by the life of St Mary of the Cross Mac Killop.
Mary MacKillop visited New Zealand 4 times and made a very strong influence on New Zealand sisters of St. Joseph " said Mary O'Neill.
"Remember we are but travellers here."

Black Madonna - Our Lady of Czestochowa - Polish Sexcentennial Reproduction 1382-1982
This is a framed reproduction of Black Madonna - Our Lady of Czestochowa. Two years ago the Mary O'Neill Doll Museum purchased this framed reproduction of the Polish Madonna.
Remarks in hand writing on the back of framed picture were written by Sr. Anne-Marie of Jesus O.D.C.S. and there is a her signature too. Sister Anne-Marie wrote:
Experts say the painting was done by St. Luke though no one is sure. 1382 Polish prince found it in Russia and took it back home with him. He stopped at the new Pauline Monastery at Jasna Gora. Next day, he wanted to set out on his way, but, unexpectedly the horses stood there, rooted to the ground and wouldn't move.
"This must be the Madonnas doing. She wishes to stay" decided the knights the friars. In this way Black Madonna chose a home for herself. The year was 1382.
1382-1982 years Quincentennial year 1982 Feast Day of Black Madonna - Our Lady of Czestochowa.
26 August,1982 - Vows as Secular Order Carmelite Sr Anne-Marie of Jesus ODCS (sister Anne- Marie's signature).
1432 Hussites damaged the painting - the king's best artists tried to cover the sward-cuts but to no avail. Three times the paint, when dry, fell off, leaving the "scars" exposed ... the Madonna wanted her wound remembered.
Dimentions of the picture: 23cm x33 cm
